SELFIE: KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS

Here is a twist for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Selfie.

My wife and I heard  by telephone yesterday, about the antics of our two and a half  year old granddaughter, Britney.  A few days before, she had put on a green toque, then looked in the mirror and said “Grandpa Bruce – perfect.”

Considering that we live 350 miles away, it emphasizes how we as adults impress ourselves upon children.

What could have Britney been thinking?

  1. Hi Bruce,

What a cute story. It made me smile today. It is so true, “out of the mouths of babes.” Children can teach us so much – their enthusiasm and zest for life is inspiring.

    P.S. Love the hat too!

    • 🙂 Yes – it is quite amazing. Her depth of imagination and even her memory of me in the green hat is one thing – but the “perfect” part was absolutely over the top hilarious. She’s endearing, that little Britney.

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I’ve done more than a few posts featuring the funny things my five-year-old granddaughter, Emma says and does. Her little sister, Brit has been slow to get in on this kind of publicity. She is two-and-a-half now, talking up a storm and ripe for reporting. Check out this cute blog her Grandpa Bruce wrote on Brit’s hilarious take on him.

  4. While we adults are oftentimes focused on some pressing concern, children see the beauty in the world and the people around them. To see with a child’s eyes again is to be reborn to life. Enjoy your granddaughter. Such a beautiful gift!
