GRAND CANYON IN WINTER
“There is nothing so American as our national parks. The scenery and wildlife are native. The fundamental idea behind the parks is native . . .”
“(The idea) is in brief that the country belongs to the people, that is in the process of making for the enrichment of the lives of all of us. The parks stand as an outward symbol of this great human principle.” Franklin Delano Roosevelt
We love to travel. These photos were taken in February 2007. With a lite dusting of snow, we arrived at dawn and the fog gradually lifted, unveiling the sun and the splendour pictured above. As the scenery unfolded before us I actually murmured to my wife, “There is a God!” The centre photo shows Francis high on the precipice against the absolute and grand scale of the canyon.
